It’s a spectacular month this September as the The Comedy Club KL brings for you three very outstanding blokes!  Meet Ro Campbell (AU) an Aussie with a Scottish sense of humour and sharp wit to match; Pete Johansson (CA) who has performed with Russell Peters and is working his way to KL; and our very own Jason Leong (MY) who will be the local funny flavour with medical and marriage jokes to sweeten the deal even further.

“Effortlessly brilliant…” – The List, Edinburgh (UK)
UK-based Aussie Ro Campbell has spent six years honing his craft by performing all over the UK, Ireland, Europe and beyond.  He has performed at the previous five Edinburgh Fringe festivals and made The Scotsman’s pick of Best Jokes of The Fringe in 2009.  He has also performed at Melbourne International Comedy Festival and the Adelaide Fringe as well as written for British TV and radio.  He was crowned Scottish Comedian Of The Year in 2010.

“Supremely entertaining” – The Independent (UK)
Now residing in the UK, Canadian-born comedian Pete Johansson has become a favourite at London’s renowned Comedy Store, been invited on Radio 4’s prominent “Loose Ends” as well as other radio and TV programmes.  He has performed alongside Stephen Merchant, Stewart Lee and Simon Amstel.  His hit solo Edinburgh show “Naked Pictures of My Life” garnerned rave reviews and bagged him a nomination for one of the most coveted awards in comedy.

Billed as one of Malaysia’s top 100,000 stand-up comedians – ranked lower than Ibrahim Ali – Jason also works for Malaysia’s biggest comedy troupe, the Ministry of Health.  With a laughable salary and a job that entails dealing with patients who sometimes are literally full of shit, Jason has found his career as a doctor to be surprisingly humourless.  Reports have stated that his decision to tell jokes to strangers instead of patients have been overwhelmingly ill-advised with the exception of all his patients, who seemed very relieved.
